About VestFolio

Portfolio analysis for Indian investors

VestFolio is Vestmind's AI portfolio analysis product. It reads an Indian investor's holdings — stocks, mutual funds and ETFs — and reports what the portfolio is actually exposed to: concentration, mutual fund overlap, sector and factor tilts, asset allocation drift and the risks those create.

How to analyse your portfolio with VestFolio

  1. Bring in your holdings

Link Zerodha, Angel One or Groww, or upload a CAS or a broker statement. An upload analysed without an account is not stored; only its total value is counted, anonymously, in Vestmind's aggregate figures.

  2. Look through every fund

Each mutual fund and ETF is opened up to the securities it holds, so a company you hold in four places is counted once, at its real size.

  3. Read the findings

Concentration, mutual fund overlap, sector exposure, allocation drift and risk — each ranked by severity and shown with the holdings that produce it.

  4. Decide what to do

Keep the findings as an independent reading before your next review, or take them into VestStudio to test a change before you make it.

How do I analyse my Zerodha portfolio?

Connect your Zerodha account through Kite on this page. VestFolio reads your equity holdings, positions and Coin mutual fund holdings — read-only — and analyses them together with anything else you import, such as a CAS or a Groww or Angel One account.

Can I analyse my portfolio from a CAS statement?

Yes. Upload the Consolidated Account Statement from CAMS or KFintech and VestFolio resolves each scheme to its disclosed holdings. Adding a transaction file as well lets it compute returns and investing behaviour from what you actually did.

What is mutual fund overlap and how is it measured?

Overlap is the share of two funds' portfolios made up of the same securities. VestFolio measures it on weight rather than on the count of common names, pair by pair and across the whole portfolio, because two funds with identical top-five holdings matter far more than two sharing thirty small positions.

How much mutual fund overlap is too much?

There is no regulatory threshold. As a working guide, two funds overlapping above roughly 70% are substantially the same exposure, while below about 30% they are doing genuinely different things. What matters more is how much of your whole portfolio sits in the handful of companies several funds hold at once.

Is it safe to connect my broker account?

Broker connections are read-only: no Vestmind adapter implements an order, so nothing can be bought, sold or moved. Broker API secrets stay on Vestmind's servers and never reach your browser, and you can disconnect any source at any time.

How is portfolio analysis different from portfolio tracking?

Tracking reports what you own and what it is worth. Analysis reports what you are exposed to and what that implies — which needs every fund looked through to the securities it holds, the only way overlap, true concentration and real sector exposure become visible.

Is a VestFolio analysis investment advice?

No. VestFolio reports what your portfolio is exposed to and why each finding matters. Vestmind is not a SEBI-registered investment adviser, and the decision about what to do remains yours.

Vestmind is not a SEBI-registered investment adviser or research analyst. Nothing on this page is personalised investment advice.
